City History
Gladstone, originally named Linden, was officially founded and changed its name in 1952. As a suburb of Kansas City, Gladstone is located just 7 miles north of the city. Therefore, it is close to all the excitement and attractions of Kansas City. At one point, Gladstone was given the nickname Happy Rock, and thus the Happy Rock Trail is a fun place to explore.
